Cub Scouts is for boys and girls in kindergarten through 5th grade. It’s a family program: kids learn by doing, with their parents right alongside them.
The trail from kindergarten to 5th grade
Each grade is its own den with its own rank. Your scout moves up one step each school year.

How it works
Your den
A small group of kids in the same grade, led by a parent volunteer. Dens meet about once a month for adventures, games, and friendships.
The pack
All the dens together. About once a month, usually a Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, for awards and big events like campouts, the Pinewood Derby, and the Blue and Gold Dinner.
Adventures
Six required adventures and at least two electives each year: the outdoors, fitness, citizenship, safety, and family. Many are done at home, together.
How parents help
- Come to pack meetings with your scout.
- Work on adventures together at home.
- Help with a ride, snacks, or an event now and then.
- Consider a volunteer role. Den leaders are always needed, and you won’t be on your own.
